eventEvent Description:

New England Energy Markets: Their Role in a Green Economy

Please join the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association and the Connecticut Power and Energy Society for the 16th Annual New England Energy Conference and Exposition: New England Energy Markets: Their Role in a Green Economy.

This year the two-day conference will bring together industry leaders and public officials from all sectors affecting the energy industry to discuss and debate the issues facing the New England energy markets. External events including the economy, the turmoil in the credit markets, and the change of Administration in Washington have greatly impacted our industry. This conference will examine the impacts of these external events on the New England energy markets.

The Obama Administration has placed increased emphasis on a “green economy” and has highlighted issues such as a national Renewable Portfolio standard, the role of transmission in siting renewable energy, and overall emphasis on infrastructure concerns. This conference will explore these policies on a regional level. Tom King, President, National Grid will kick off the substantive sessions with a discussion of his views on these important issues. Quebec Government Minister of Natural Resources and Wildlife, Claude Béchard and Brookfield Renewable Power Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Richard Legault will also provide perspectives on the region’s role in the green economy.

Distinguished experts from all sectors of the industry, and public policy advocates will offer their candid views and in-depth analyses on key topics, including:

- Energy Drivers for a Renewed Economy
- Responses and Challenges in a Renewed Economy
- Infrastructure: How Green is thy Pasture?
- Finance and Credit Issues in the Power Industry

The conference Exhibition Hall will also offer opportunities to learn about state-of-the-art energy products and services. Networking opportunities with other participants, speakers, panelists, keynotes and industry and government leaders will be provided at the annual golf outing, being held at Lake of Isles, and on a sailing cruise in Fishers Island Sound.

You won’t want to miss New England’s preeminent gathering of the energy industry.

Conference Dress Code is Corporate Casual.
